I have previously lamented the demise of SpringPad, my much loved note taking app. I searched high and low for an alternative but I still ended up with Evernote. Don’t get me wrong, Evernote is a solid product, brimming with features but it just isn’t for me. It’s like pushing an acoustic electric guitar to a guitar novice like me who just wants to keep things simple.
I find Evernote to have too much features and also a big factor for me – Interface. Somehow I find it cluttered (organized but cluttered) and not easy on the eyes. I changed font styling but it still gave me that impression and instead of helping me be productive, its been driving me nuts. Ha! I know its an OC thing, but there it is.
For personal, short notes I’m pretty much settled on using Google Keep, but I’m on the lookout for something more substantial. Anyhow, I’ve recently been searching for other note taking apps to try. Important features for me would be ability to sync across multiple devices and a simple, easy on the eye interface.
So far, I’m loving this.
SimpleNote. A free app available for the web, iOS, Android and Kindle. It’s simple, clean and doesn’t drive me crazy.
For other apps check out these recent listings: Top 10 Best Evernote Alternatives and for Mac users – Time To Ditch Evernote? Letterspace & Fetch Are Compelling Alternatives.
Another alternative I would explore in the near future is PaperWork where notes can be stored in your server. Worth checking out if one does not like to host important notes on third party servers.
Here’s a list of my must have apps when it comes to fashion shopping. Yes, this list is highly subjective and these are brands and shops where I buy stuff. All of these are clothing brands so if you ask is liquid repellent part of their product range, the answer is probably no. Lol. I’ll do another list for Android shopping apps next, but for now I’m sharing my 10 Must-Have Fashion Brand Apps for Android.
- H & M – I Love this Brand. Beautiful clothes without breaking the bank. Definitely a must-have for every fashionista.
- Zara – gorgeous clothes. I love the cuts of Zara so this is always on my install list of shopping apps.
- Forever 21 – variety is what makes this one of the best brands to shop. Prices are pretty friendly too.
Absolutely one of my must-install app on Android. Greenify!
It’s specially great if you have a lot of apps installed and they are taking up too much of your battery.
What does it do?
Greenify help you identify and put the misbehaving apps into hibernation when you are not using them, to stop them from lagging your device and leeching the battery, in an unique way! They can do nothing without explicit launch by you or other apps, while still preserving full functionality when running in foreground.
It’s Free and its Awesome!
I have a daughter who is absolutely crazy about music. I figured it won’t be long before she asks me for a pricey music instrument but for now she is into mixing music.
And right now, she is so ‘madly in love’ with this studio music mixing app she found in Google Play. It’s called Edjing DJ studio music mixer and even me (who is tone deaf) can appreciate how good this app is. And best of all, its FREE!
Check it out, if you fancy mixing some music..
It’s been several months since I last designed Android homescreens. Sigh. I love doing this but right now I am simply pressed for time. Got too much on my plate right now, in fact, right now I should be looking for bar machinery for sale but I’m sneaking in to post this. Ha!
I’m sure there are lots of people with the same predicament, you want to personalize you Android Phone but you either don’t know how or you don’t have the time. Well, here’s one great solution – Themer App!
I’ve been testing it the past few months and I love how easily you can switch set ups! I’m lovin’ it a lot, I’m itching to do my own designs for Themer. Just wait till I get myself some free doodle and play time..For now, check out the app and start making your phone beautiful.
Oh yeah! I’m not kidding!
It’s a simple app, but it really drags me out of my sedentary existence. Ha! I work on the computer all day long so yeah, I’m really so in need of getting up and getting going.
I’ve tried countless ways and motivations and I’ve also tried complicated apps, to no avail. I’ll be up and about when its new but end up slouching off again.
I’m blabbing about Noom Walk!! A simple pedometer that has now made me obsessed with reaching my daily ‘walk/steps’ goal.
I tell you, I’ve used complicated apps with slews of features and they’ve never gotten me to move like this little pedometer has done. In fact, I’ve used the Noom Weight Loss app but found it to need to much attention, logs that I lost interest after a week.
Best of all, its FREE. And works awesome especially if you’re a beginner. Now I partner my walks with flow yoga and I can’t believe how much I’m gaining strength and toning.
